Lorenzo A. Trujillo
Traditional Hispanic Violin • Music and Dance of Colorado and New Mexico • Mariachi Music of Mexico
Over the years, I have been fortunate to play mariachi music, folk, classical, and liturgical music. Also, I have been teaching mariachi music and performance and the dances of the 1840’s in Colorado and New Mexico (waltzes, polkas, schottisches, redondos, cuadrillas, and other styles). My master teachers have given of themselves so that I could continue age-old traditions of music and dance presentation and preservation for your insight and enjoyment. I have studied violin for many years, most recently under Bartholomew Fortino-Shields in Rome, Italy, Carla Sciaky of the Baroque Chamber Orchestra of Colorado, Paul Primus, Principal Second Chair of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, Mark Fogelquist, Jeff Nevin, and Juan Ramirez. The musicians I perform with are truly masters of their style, genre and repertoire. I have been fortunate to travel internationally on concert tours to Rome, Italy, Peru, and Baja California, Mexico, and Ireland.
